Dry Cleaning - 70% Chemical Ends Up in Environment

WOW - I just read that "70% of perc used in dry cleaning ends up in nature" in the daily email I get from Ideal Bite. Perc is a volatile organic compound that is used in dry cleaning. Exposure to perc by people working in the business may cause serious health problems and the chemical is a potential carcinogen. Simply put, it's not good for he workers and its not good for the environment.

So, what to do? Limit your trips to the dry cleaner: make an effort to avoid "dry clean only" clothing or by doing the laundering yourself. There are several products on the market to help with wool and cashmere. Have you tried them? What's your opinion? I'll share mine when I've had the chance to try it.
