Follow Up: Composting = Big Plants

Well, I'm certainly not a scientist, so I can't say that it was truly the compost that made the garden explode, but you saw the pictures from earlier this spring, right? So, you know that most of what is in the bed came from our compost.

We eventually mixed some plain dirt into the melee of rotten veggies and such: most of the compost did finally break down.

Then, about a month ago, we stuck in some starter plants, bought at the local Farmer's Market. Voila! Look at this crazy mess that turned up. In fact, we've got about a dozen little baby squashes already growing. YEAH! We can't wait to make our own chili and casseroles with food that we actually grew.

(In case you're wondering if my son was self-motivated to water, he's not. He's doing it to earn money. Cute nonetheless though!)
