Well, I quickly figured out - only 2 days in - that I was going to need something besides a random plastic pail to keep kitchen scraps in or I'd be running out back every three seconds! So, I bought one of these countertop composting pails. You store your scraps in them and then empty as needed.
I have to admit the idea of cleaning it out each time is sort of icky, so I'm buying the biobags for it too. You can dump those directly into the compost so that you keep the container cleaner.
I should really add up how much all of the things are costing. Would be interesting to see at the end of the year the costs vs. the savings. Hmmm . . .
